"The English Neighbour" is a resourceful, vivid and tirelessly funny story about the clash and fusion of cultures in today's age of globalization.

The story takes place in Bulgarian fictional village Plodovitovo located in the Middle of Nowhere. Strange fact - ‘fertile' is the English meaning of village's name. As a rule, Bulgaria is open to the outside world, but many of its citizens have emigrated for chasing a better life. Another part of Bulgarian residents dream of winning the lottery instead of farming the fertile land.

On a wonderful sunny day the retired English chemical engineer, named John, decides to settle down in Plodovitovo. He buys a nice old house. John is agogged with anticipation about the calmness of the local rural lifestyle. He has selected Bulgaria because he has enjoyed our seaside for a couple of times and even started a Bulgarian language course. He dreams to have a garden and to cultivate crops - a few acres, which he can call his own.

And while John is delighted to dedicate to adventures of Bulgarian rustic lifestyle, his neighbor Nikolai appears and cause some problems. Nikolay, nicknamed Nottingham Forest, is a mediate victim to delusions of grandeur. He even named after his cattle to a world famous football stars. Not so long after that John is folding up paper hats from The Guardian's torn pages and denouncing Queen and country.
